Initial Consultation
Your initial class (either an individual or a semi-private class) at Pilates Extension. It will involve an assessment and a workout. If you haven’t done Pilates before, this will give you an opportunity to see what it is like and to decide if you think it is the type of exercise for you. If you have done Pilates before at another Studio, you will also do the initial consultation where you will have an assessment done in order for your specific programme to be devised. During this session you can discuss your options in terms of class types that would best suit your needs and combinations of classes that will give you maximum benefit from your Pilates practise.
Individual Pilates Classes (1:1)
These are one-on-one classes customised specifically for your body’s needs. They are the place to start out if you are new to Pilates in order to become familiar with the Pilates repertoire and to understand your body and its movements. They are great for working on specific issues/needs or if you want the benefit from the focused attention. These classes incorporate matwork, equipment and props.
Semi Private Pilates Classes (1:2)
The semi-private classes allow for friends, partners, family members or for two people who share similar interest in exercise times to join together for a session. Exercises within these classes will be modified per person to ensure you get the maximum benefit for your individual body whilst still having the motivation of working out with a buddy. These classes incorporate matwork, equipment and props.
Mixed Equipment Classes (1:4)
These classes involve a combination of matwork, equipment work and use of props throughout the class. There are a maximum of 4 clients per session, each sharing the space and equipment but each completing their own individually focussed programmes. Each client gets a full body workout. This is a nice class to add in to your Pilates routine that allows you to be responsible for you own movement. Some knowledge of Pilates repertoire is required prior to joining.
